What I've been up {Blog & Life Update}

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give y'all an update on what I've been up to and such. I'm currently dealing with an awful sinus infection (I know eww) and I've been working a TON of hours so I'm a bit run down at the moment. I've decided to take it easy on the blog so I can focus on feeling better and get some rest. Hopefully I'll begin feeling better once my antibiotics kick in and I get some much needed rest this weekend.

That being said I'll still be around but I won't be blogging on a set schedule so to speak.

Since I haven't had much energy I've been reading pretty slowly. I'm currently reading Fallen by Lauren Kate. I had planned on reading the whole series in October but I just didn't have the extra time to this month. I've also decided to switch it up a little so I'll be starting a New Adult novel titled Dirty Like Me this weekend as well. Hopefully I'll be able to post my review soon for that one but we'll …

For the first time in her life, Hope Walton has friends . . . and a (maybe) boyfriend. She’s a Viator, a member of a long line of time-traveling ancestors. When the Viators learn of a plan to steal a dangerous device from the inventor Nikola Tesla, only a race into the past can save the natural timeline from utter destruction. Navigating the glitterati of The Gilded Age in 1895 New York City, Hope and her crew will discover that high society can be as deadly as it is beautiful. Sparks of Light is the second book in the Into The Dim series. I loved the first book and cannot wait until this one releases!
What are you waiting for this week?

All About That Cover: Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi

"All About That Cover" is a weekly feature that focuses on the differences between various book covers of the same book, such as cover changes, covers from different countries as well as special editions.
U.S. vs French Cover

I'm absolutely in love with the English edition of this book! That being said, I like the French edition but when I look at it it reminds me of a romance novel and not a YA fantasy.

U.S. vs UK  (mass market paperbacks)
Recently I had a friend of mine tell me about this one. Hopefully I'll be getting around to reading it soon! I really like the U.S. cover, the color scheme reminds me of something creepy and the girl on the cover looks bad ass.

All About That Cover: The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter - U.S. versus Australian Edition

"All About That Cover" is a weekly feature that focuses on the differences between various book covers of the same book, such as cover changes, covers from different countries as well as special editions.
U.S vs. Australian Cover

I read The Goddess Test back in 2011 and loved it. I wanted to feature an oldie but a goodie. Which cover is your favorite?
I would say I love both covers but the U.S. cover speaks more Greek mythology to me. What do you think?

Such a sweet, endearing and fun story of friendship. This is a light read that children and adults alike will love!
The characters were wonderfully weird . The poems were great as well. And I cannot forget the artfully done illustrations.
I'll leave you with the poem this story ends with...

October TBR- time for hoodies, crisp air and books about angels, demons and gargoyles!

So last month I managed to finish four of my six books on my TBR list plus an extra SIX BOOKS! Me being a moody reader I'm actually pretty darn proud of myself!
Not to mention, I suffered through an awful book slump after reading A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest. (I plan on reading the second book soon!) Luckily for me I stumbled upon The Gender Game by Bella, let me tell you...that book hit the spot!
Last night I started reading Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I'm loving it! I'm not sure why I stopped at White Hot Kiss last year.
Pretty last minute (meaning like 5 minutes ago, yeah that's how I roll.) I decided that this is the month for me to catch up on books that have been sitting on my shelves for ages. Without further ago here is my TBR books for the month of October:

I recently found out that the trailer for the Fallen movie had been released so I guess I'm reading the rest of the series just in time!  Check out the trailer:
