Cover Reveal
Hero's Heart
by: Lila Felix & Elle Kimberly

Ranger never came back like he promised Hero he would. He left her broken and alone to always wonder why.

Hero waited as long as she could, but life goes on.

In Ranger’s absence, she did what she had to, taking Ranger’s brother in to care for him as he died.

Hero and Ranger never imagined that Garrison’s will would throw them back into a past that caused them nothing but pain and grief.

This isn’t their high school romance anymore.

This isn’t prom dresses and skinny dipping in the pond.

This is a matter of Hero’s heart.

Author Bios

Lila Felix is full of antics and stories. She refused to go to Kindergarten after the teacher made her take a nap on the first day of school. She staged her first protest in middle school. She almost flunked out of her first semester at Pepperdine University because she was enthralled with their library and frequently was locked in. Now her husband and three children have to put up with her rebel nature in Louisiana where her days are filled with cypress trees, crawfish, and of course, her books and writing. She writes about the ordinary people who fall extraordinarily in wild, true love.

Born and raised in Illinois Elle Kimberly has been a day dreamer and writer since childhood. A lover of traveling and avid book nerd Elle took the leap to writing professionally in 2016. She is the author of the clean, inspirational romance series Nashua Tigers (to be published late 2017) and co-author with Lila Felix. If she isn't working on her fictional worlds and characters, she's holding tightly to her paperwhite kindle and trying to copycat Facebook cooking recipes.

Mini Review
Ten Things I Love About You
by: Julia Quinn

Annabel Winslow is in a pickle. Having newly arrived in London for her first season and being in possession of a voluptuous figure, is being openly courted the the Earl of Newbury, who is at least 75 and a nasty brute to boot. Annabel does not want to marry him, of course, but feels that she has no choice since her father has recently died and left the whole family, including Annabel's mother and her 7 siblings, almost destitute.

Then, while attending a party in the countryside, Annabel met Sebastian Grey, the Earl of Newbury's nephew. And suddenly she found herself not only courted by the lecherous uncle, but also the charming young nephew. Should she follow her heart so that she can be with the one she loves, or should she marry the loathsome earl just so she can put food on the table for her family and make sure that her brothers get to stay in school?

Format: ebook
Genre: Regency Romance (Adult)
Setting: London, England 1822
Series: Bevelstoke #3

My Review...

Annabel sucked in her lips, clasped her hands together in her lap, and wondered what she might do to give off the air of being infertile.
So maybe this is a bit of an odd quote to start a review with but it was one of my favorites. Annabel absolutely detests the Earl of Newberry & the above quote sums up her feelings perfectly.  I also love it because it has just the right about of humor, a signature to all of Julia Quinn's novels.

Now let's delve into what I liked about this one...

1. The Dialogue - This whole book is chock full of witty humor & swoon-worthy dialogue.
2. The undeniable chemistry between Annabel & Sebastian -  Their attraction for one another was another favorite of mine about this book.
Annabel had been utterly flustered, stammering something that might have passed for a greeting in a preverbal society. She did lift her eyes for a moment, because even she knew that one couldn't spend an entire introduction staring at the ground. But it was a mistake. A huge mistake. Mr. Grey, who has been quite good-looking in the moonlight, was even more heartstoppingly handsome by the light of day.
3. Sebastian (Seb) - I loved his character, especially considering this is in 1822 London. He was compassionate, caring and an overall good person.

Overall: This isn't my favorite Quinn book but, nevertheless I found myself smiling often and not wanting to put it down while reading. If you are in search of a light & fluffy read with plenty of witty humor, charming characters and a Happily Ever After then this one is for you!

I can't wait to pick up another Julia Quinn book, they never let me down!

6 Star Review:
Wait for You
by J. Lynn

Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…

My Review...

“I'm beginning to think cookies is a code word for something else."
"Maybe it is." He tugged on my bag again as he took a confident step back, forcing me down another step. "And just think about it. If cookie was a code word, whatever it symbolizes, it's been in your mouth, sweetheart.”

This book is JUST WHAT I NEEDED! I've been in a HUGE book slump on and off again for awhile now and this book HAS CURED ME! I'm sure I'll be a bit New Adult obsessed for the time being BUT I DON'T CARE! Oh and...cookies won't mean the same thing to me for awhile ...

Let's delve into why I loved this one...

  1. The undeniable chemistry between Cam & Avery - I haven't stayed up until 5 am to finish a book in years, this one had my heart racing!
  2. The Banter- Seriously had me cracking up the entire time. And it wasn't just Cam & Avery; Brit, Jacob, Ollie & Jace had me cracking up too! J. Lynn has an exceptional talent for writing amazing dialog!
  3. Raphael- He's the most adorable turtle ever!
  4. The struggle that Avery goes through and the beautiful way in which she handles it. I'm not one to gravitate to 'sad' or 'tough' books, this book has its moments, but I promise IT HAS AN HEA (Happily Ever After) and it's oh-so worth it!
  5. Jenn's incredible writing skills! If you've read any of her other books (Lux series or Covenant series) then you'll love this one!
All in All: READ. THIS. BOOK!!!

All About That Cover:
Come Sundown
by Nora Roberts

"All About That Cover" is a weekly event hosted here that focuses on the differences between various book covers of the same book, such as cover changes, covers from different countries as well as special editions.

U.S vs UK cover...

U.S. Cover
UK Cover

It's been awhile since I've indulged in one of Nora's books. I'm typically a YA or Paranormal Romance kinda girl but no matter which genre Nora is writing in (she mainly writes contemporary adult but sometimes paranormal or fantasy adult.) I can always find the best kind of literary escapism in her books.

Between the two covers, I'm really loving the UK edition. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below and don't forget to leave a link to your blog so I can visit!

Waiting on Wedesday:
Ilyan: A Novella
by Rebecca Ethington
(Imdalind #8)

'Waiting on Wednesday' is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine, it spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. Check them out for links to more awesome blogs!

When the man who would be known as Jan Kowalski was found outside the door to a Ukrainian hospital, everything about him was confusing.

From the heart that beat inside his chest; the heart that was not his despite there being no evidence of surgery.

From the way he never aged, even though he slipped in and out of coma’s for more than ten years.

From the broken fragments of memories that tormented him and made his identity impossible to place.
To the man who snuck into the hospital to kill him.

To the governments that wanted him.

Nothing was right.

Not even when the truth finally became clear.

And his name became Ilyan Krul once more.

Why I'm Waiting

I could list a million reasons!

I started this series and loved the first book so much I bought the other 7 in the series. I flew through the first two and for some reason I made if about 60% through book three and put it down. I think it's because while the series is great, book three was book two but in another POV. I plan on going back and finishing book three soon and I'm sure I'll fly through the rest of the series pretty quickly. If you're planning on getting into this series, Ilyan will only be available to purchase for six months. I've already pre-ordered mine.

What are you waiting for this Wednesday?

The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband: Rokesbys #2
by Julia Quinn
{Review & Giveaway}

While you were sleeping...

With her brother Thomas injured on the battlefront in the Colonies, orphaned Cecilia Harcourt has two unbearable choices: move in with a maiden aunt or marry a scheming cousin. Instead, she chooses option three and travels across the Atlantic, determined to nurse her brother back to health. But after a week of searching, she finds not her brother but his best friend, the handsome officer Edward Rokesby. He's unconscious and in desperate need of her care, and Cecilia vows that she will save this soldier's life, even if staying by his side means telling one little lie...

I told everyone I was your wife

When Edward comes to, he's more than a little confused. The blow to his head knocked out six months of his memory, but surely he would recall getting married. He knows who Cecilia Harcourt is—even if he does not recall her face—and with everyone calling her his wife, he decides it must be true, even though he'd always assumed he'd marry his neighbor back in England.

If only it were true...

Cecilia risks her entire future by giving herself—completely—to the man she loves. But when the truth comes out, Edward may have a few surprises of his own for the new Mrs. Rokesby.

My Review...

It's been ages since I've picked up a Julia Quinn book and I'm not sure why. As with all of her other books (especially her Bridgerton's series) I absolutely adored, loved and am obsessed with this book! I always tell everyone who loves romance and a HEA (Happily Ever After) that this is the author who writes Regency Romance for EVERYONE, even those who don't like Regency Romance!

For those of you who want to pick up this book don't worry, you don't have to read the previous book or any of her other books to enjoy this one! (Admittedly I didn't read the first book in this series titled Because of Miss Bridgerton although I do plan on it.)

The Setting - Unlike any of Julia's previous books this one is set in New York during the Revolutionary War. I loved it because of the beautifully descriptive writing, it pulled me in and made me feel as if I were actually there. I felt for Cecilia and Edward being surrounded by war in a foreign country.

*There's a particular scene I loved that takes place at a Dutch Bakery and talks about Speculaas, they are a type of cookie. I've in included a recipe that you can find HERE.

The Romance- There are these heartfelt letters written initially between Cecilia and her brother Thomas and eventually Cecelia and Edward start writing to one another (before ever meeting face to face) and they were adorable! The romance in this story is the epitome of what I look for in a book. Quite honestly it's hard for me to put into words, it's more of a "SQUEE I LOVED IT"!

All-in-All: This book is perfect for...
  1. Historical Romance Fans.
  2. If you love the Amnesia Trope.
  3. In search of a swoon-worthy, giddy HEA.
  4. Or if you'd like to branch out and try Regency Romance for the first time!
